Hydrated lime, Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), also called slaked lime, is a white powder produced commercially when quicklime is mixed with water:
CaO + H2O → Ca(OH)2
Hydrated Lime has a variety of benefits when used for water and wastewater treatment, including acid neutralization, water softening, and impurity removal. The chemical is also used to treat flue gas emissions containing acidic gases and heavy metals. Sodimate supplies turnkey and retrofit hydrated lime feed and slurry systems for all types of industries. A typical configuration includes a storage container (silo, hopper, or super sac), a mechanical discharger, and a screw feeder. Depending on the process a slurry mixing tank complete with pumps and accessories can also be implemented.
