Sodimate works for the glass industry for the revamping of pneumatic lime transport installations.
The fumes coming from the glass furnaces are mixed to pass through an electro filter & a baghouse filter before going out from a chimney. The lime injection consists of a system with an existing metal silo on load cells and two injection lines, each feeding a duct in which the smoke to be treated passes.
Recently, we intervened on an installation that stopped because of a malfunction and thus had to be the subject of an important restoration.
For this, Sodimate proposed a complete solution including :
– An extraction & dosing system of hydrated lime under silo as well as two pneumatic transfer lines of lime of a length of 100 feet & 65 feet each to reach the flue gas ducts. Our lime extraction system, which is placed in the silo cone, allows the continuous extraction of lime while avoiding the formation of a vault in the silo. Our dosing screws enable the injection of a precise quantity of lime so that the dosing is accurate.
– Three pneumatic impactors on the silo cone guarantee an optimal safety of the lime flow from the silo.
– The whole system is equipped with sensors to ensure its proper functioning. Silo weight, lime level, speed of the different motors, pressure, etc. are all monitored by the control unit. Everything is controlled by the customer’s control panel according to our recommendations.
– The pneumatic transfer lines are terminated by injection lance that penetrate the gas veins, as the performance of the system is linked to the dispersion of lime within the fumes.
Sodimate also took care of the dismantling of the old equipment as well as the installation of the new one by installing the supports of the pneumatic transfers that favor the flow of powder within the pneumatic transfer lines.
This solution allows an optimal quality of emissions while respecting the environmental standards in force.
